Swap domain, keep stats?

    Hi,

    Just been reading this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/swap-domain-keep-stats/

    Where someone wanted to change domain whilst retaining their stats. I’d like to do the same and I was hoping someone might be able to help as they did in that thread. I’ve already made the domain switch.

    Old: tlc.theraywilson.com
    New: thoselondonchicks.com

    Any chance someone could put the Jetpack stats from the old domain onto the new one? I’d really appreciate it. Please do let me know if you require any more information in support of this request.

    I took care of the switch for you. You should be all set!

    To avoid any issues in the future, I would recommend that you redirect the old domain to the new one as soon as possible.

    Wicked, thank you very much for that. Very much appreciated. When you say “redirect the old domain to the new one” can I ask what you mean, sorry? Is there something within the Jetpack control panel I could’ve been looking at or something?

    Sorry, I should have been clearer. Right now, I can still access tlc.theraywilson.com. I’m redirected to a log in form when I try to access the site.

    Instead of requiring a log in to access the site, I would suggest that you redirect all readers to your new site, so they get to know the new domain, and where to look for your site from now on.

    Ah I see. It should be okay because people have only ever accessed the site through the ‘new’ address anyway. The new address was always there masked over the old subdomain, but somehow I must have setup the Jetpack stats on the subdomain before I stuck the new address on top. Hope that makes sense?
