Swapping in .velocity() for .animate()

I really appreciate your plugin. It’s providing a simple, user-friendly dropdown solution for my client.

I am a proponent of Velocity JS (https://velocityjs.org/), which accelerates jQuery animation. You can swap in .velocity() for .animate() anywhere and see improved performance.

Is there any way I can add this functionality to your plugin without directly editing the plugin (and therefore messing up future updates)?

If I do choose to edit your plugin, should I be concerned about security if I can’t access your future plugin updates?
