SWF as header in wordpress

Hello! I am a new user, so apologies if my first post is a request for help.

My question involves using an SWF in the header. Googling this issue I’ve found a few hits, but nothing very comprehensive on how to go about doing it.

Would anyone be able to tell me comprehensively how to achieve this, or at least help me get a good idea of all the steps I’ll need to and where everything has to go? It seems there are some issues with the location of the swf. Any information about where I should be putting the code for this?
