    Hi,

I just migrated my site from Dreamhost to Media Temple. Everything seems to be working great, except for Contact Form 7. When I try sending a test email, I get the spinny arrows telling me the send is processing, but it never completes. Awhile later I do get the email in my inbox, but I never see a “your message went through” confirmation on my site.

    The site is: https://longestshortesttime.com

When I was using Dreamhost, I had to configure my CF7 forms in a certain way to avoid emails going to spam. It looked like this:

To: hello [at] longestshortesttime [dot] com
From: LST Contact Form <[email protected]>
    Additional headers: Reply-to: [your-name] <[your-email]>

I’m guessing the problem is in this configuration? But I’m not sure how to make it work for Media Temple. Can anyone help me sort this out?

    Thanks!

  • The spinning arrow is a common symptom of a Javascript conflict with either your current WordPress theme or one of the other plugins you are using – see Contact Form 7 Email Issues – there is a link there that covers Javascript Conflicts

Thanks, buzztone. I saw that post. But I’m thinking this is probably not my problem because the form was working immediately prior to migration and did not work immediately after. I made no other changes. Media Temple says they can’t provide support for 3rd party products. Any ideas about what might have happened in the migration?

@hillfrank – Your problem is very similar to many others I answered in this forum, which turned out to be Javascript Conflicts.

Ignoring the possibilty of a Javascript Conflict, based on info you gave, would be unwise.

Your recent migration may or may not be relevant.

@buzztone – my dev tried disabling plugins and the default theme, and none of it worked. Even tried new contact forms with new names. Still spinning arrows.

That the emails ARE eventually coming is a good thing… But I wonder if you did actually move the email over to MT? You may not have updated the DNS tables correctly. Assuming your domain really is longestshortesttime.com I took a look and you’ve still got hosting set up with us (that is, your domain is set to use MT’s nameservers, which is good, but you’re still paying for hosting which if you’re using their email, is not needed).
