• I have a wordpress site with zero content so my new hosting provider WPX pointed my name servers to them and they are now propigatet. So, I did a new one click install and it was a success.

During that install I set up a new password for the admin board, however It would not let me log in. So, I used my old password and it logged me in to my dashboard.

But I have no idea if I am using my old host or not. Wouldn’t that be impossible if my name servers are pointed and propigated to my new host?

Isn’t there anywhere in the admin dashboard that tells you the hosting company?

  • I would have looked that up for you but you didn’t provide a link to your website.

Try calling your new webhost and ask them for help as they’ll be able to tell you.

And since your old password let you login earlier then I’d think you were still seeing your old host at that time. It takes a short while for those changes to propagate.

    Hi,
As a quick debug measure, you can create a test.html page on your new hosting and try to access using the browser. If you’re able to access to it (for example yourwebsite.com/test.hml), then that means you’re using the new hosting. If you’re not able, then that means you’re using the old on.

    Good Luck
