Hello, by default my WordPress page has a plugin called “Email Subscribers” which I used so far to build an email list. Now I am in the process of switching to Mailchimp, and I am confused about how the old Email Subscriber columns/fields map to Mailchimp.

My old list has a column “name”. Should I create a Mailchimp column called “name” or is “First Name” more common?

But more important: My old list has a column that shows if the email address was confirmed or not (double opt in). Do I need this column in Mailchimp or is that information stored separately? The same question goes for the sign up date & time. And lastly my old list has a colum called “Group” where everything is set to “Public”. Does that correlate to different Lists in Mailchimp?

I tried it with a test sign up and it seems that the confirmation status and the sign up date are indeed stored separately, so do I only need columns for the first name and mail address (in it’s most basic version)?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Please note we are not affiliated with MailChimp.com. We are a different company “ibericode” that develops plugins such as “MailChimp for WordPress”. I’m sorry to tell you I am not able to help you with this question as it is not related to our plugin. My advice to you is to contact MailChimp.com as they would be the best people to answer any query related to your MailChimp.com account.

You can contact MailChimp.com trough https://mailchimp.com/contact/support/

I hope that helps. If you have any queries specific to our plugin please let us know!
