• I have a basic nine-page site (https://stemneighbors) that does not use WordPress. Now I plan to make it a WordPress site.

What is the best way to do this?

Should I put WordPress into a folder, get it set up, copy my stuff to WordPress pages, then delete my old stuff and move the WordPress stuff to the main section?

    Thanks.

  • Based on your HTML structure, IF your hosting has a higher hierarchy for index.html over index.php, you can install the WordPress at root “behind” the HTML site and set up the theme, pages, posts, plugins to your satisfaction without affecting the HTML site. When you’re ready to “launch” your WordPress, download file copy of your HTML site in your computer and delete all online HTML. Your WordPress will then become your main website.
