Swith Hosts – Have I got this right?

  • I just want to check this to make sure I have it straight… The situation is:

    Existing site designed outside wordpress awful and ugly.

    New site set up with different host, designed in wordpress waiting for nameserver switch. Current URL’s are IP followed by ~accountname.

    My assumption is that I should follow this process am I correct?

    1. In Settings->General change the “WordPress address (URL)” and “Site address (URL)” to the domain name.

    2. Change the nameservers of the domain to point to the new host.

    3. Wait for the change to poliferate.

    4. Once poliferated cancel old hosting.
