Swtching Subdomain to Main domain

Website Dis is hosted at Mac as a subdomain of Website Soc. Lists.Dis is hosted at another another host. (Soc was a test site.)

I want Dis to be the seen in the task bar and not Soc.

I worry that if I create a new independent Website Dis that lists.dis will break.

So the solution appears to be to mask Soc.

I don’t care what happens to Soc – it can disappear or be a second address. But I want Dis to be the address seen in the taskbar and I don’t want to break lists.Dis

Mac is not being helpful how to do this. I’d just like to do this the least geeky way possible, or if that is impossible know what needs to be done so I can hire someone to do it.
