    Hi,

I have a problem with Sydney because Sydney collapsed when i tried to turn on Simple Membership plugin or Ultimate Member plugin, or related post plugin. All plugins are legal.
And I use some plugins only like AIOWPS, Classic Editor, Display Post, Cookie Plugin…

    Please, advice.

    Thanks.

  • Hello there,

Your explanation is too general to me. Would you please be more specific? To help check if it’s theme specific issue, you can try troubleshoot it by temporarily switching to one of default WordPress themes.

    Hi Kharis,

2 + 1 themes are installed: Twenty Nineteen and Sydney + Sydney Child.

I tried to turn on the following plugins:
    Paid Membership
    Ultimate Member
    Simple Membership
    Rocket Geek
    and Related post.

If I use Twenty Nineteen, there is no problem.
If I use the Sydney Child theme (or Sydney, too), after plugins are turned on I get an error message: HTTP ERROR 500.

Log file checked, I can see:
PHP Warning: Use of undefined constant REQUEST_URI – assumed ‘REQUEST_URI’ (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/…../wp-content/themes/sydney/functions.php on line 73

    OR

PHP Notice: ob_end_flush(): failed to send buffer of zlib output compression (0) in /home/…../wp-includes/functions.php on line 4212 or 3813

These error messages are I have.

    Please, advice.

    Hello there,

Thank you for reporting. Please check the version PHP in your server. Ensure it meets the minimum requirement as mentioned here: https://www.ads-software.com/about/requirements/

    Thank you for getting back.

PHP Warning: Use of undefined constant REQUEST_URI – assumed ‘REQUEST_URI’ (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/…../wp-content/themes/sydney/functions.php on line 73

I have never seen a warning like this before. I’ll be taking a look at the theme’s functions and will be keeping you updated. Please be patience.

    Regards,
    Kharis

    Hello there,

On line 73 contains add_theme_support declaration that isn’t harmful and commonly found on modern themes. Probably you’re running older version Sydney? The current version is 1.55. Also please check the WordPress version. Theme, plugins and WordPress should be the latest to avoid script incompatibility.

    Regards,
    Kharis
