I am connecting two sites (one is a subdomain of the other) with WP Remote Users Sync. Site A is a sales site, Site B is course site.

I’ve set up the plugin on both sites and it almost works perfectly. I can create, update, and so on between the two sites. I’ve even set it up so I can delete a user from one site without deleting from the other.

What isn’t working is the LOGIN syncing. Strangely, the LOGOUT works fine.
I am using the Ultimate Member social plugin to manage login, logout, profile, etc. Ultimate Member provides a custom login, logout, user, and other similar pages that are instead of the wp-login.php or wp-admin.php and the admin bar is hidden.

I’m wondering if the login is some how NOT using the standard WordPress functionality (but the logout is using it?). Any ideas? Or maybe I set something up incorrectly?

To the plugin developer, Alexandre Froger, are you potentially available to help (paid) in getting this to work?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

    Hi @laiprogramdir ,

Apologies for the late reply, I have kept my involvement to WPRUS core bug fixes lately due to a lack of free time.

I do not have time to take on more work at the time beyond core plugin bug fixes.

I have tested the plugin with Ultimate Member in the past with success – if you have discovered an edge case and found a solution, contributions are welcome on Github to speed things up.

Also I need to mention that paid work is not to be discussed on WordPress support forums according to forum guidelines.

    Hi all,

Thanks @frogerme for your response! I figured out what the issue is (and it came from my own lack of understanding of the way this plugin and browsers in general work). Everything now works.

For anyone else who may encounter something similar and not be super tech savvy, to make sure the login from site A carries over to site B, you have to link directly from site A to site B so that the login (cookie?) is preserved. It WON’T work if you open a new browser window or a different browser and type in the other site.

So, the use case looks like:
Login to site A, click link on site A that takes you to site B (and you are logged in).
    OR
Login to site B, click link on site B that takes you to site A (and you are logged in).

Logout works from either site. You can open other site in a new window as long as the tab is opened from the first site.

    Thanks for this plugin!

    Hi @laiprogramdir !
    Great, glad it’s working!

Regarding the rest of the answer: you are right when it comes to login sync in different browsers: it indeed cannot work. In a different tab though, after logging in on one site and letting the page load, then switch tab and reload the page of the second site, login will also sync.
