    Hi!

    I′ve done all the works.
    – Scanned and recognized images
    – Created LR ID′s for all photos i LR
    – Manually linked those images not recognized automatiacally by plugin
    – THEN: used images in posts still uses old images
    – What is not working here? I have some 600 images in use on my website, and would expect the plugin to have all image-links in the entire website to be updated using the newly synced images.
    Am I missing something here?

    Any suggestions is appreciated

    Hello Pal ??

There is one step (the most important one) missing here: did you click on Publish in the publish service in Lightroom? To actually synchronize the files? I guess so but just want to make sure.

Then the second thing is that if you use a caching engine/system/plugin or CDN it has to be reset.

I sure pressed the publish in LR.
I now have disabled the cache plugin.
When checking the image path it seems OK.
I do, how ever, think I now have more images and even duplicated images…
    I look into that.

In the mean time; Do you have any tips as to check for duplicate images and for image Versions (sizes) that are not in use? As stated before; your Media Cseems not to count for Featured images, meaning they are not recognized as Attached to a post, thus chredding them…

If you added manually images into “Photos” in the Publish Service and that those images are not linked in WordPress, there will be for sure duplicates. You did the manual synchronization too, right?

WP/LR can check its own duplicates (that’s only when you are doing the total sync, many users upload manually 2 times or more the same images for different articles and of course WP/LR link them to one image, if this is your problem so yes, WP/LR can detect this, there is a screen for it – have a look at the FAQ).

    About that:

As stated before; your Media Cseems not to count for Featured images, meaning they are not recognized as Attached to a post, thus chredding them…

Sorry I have no clue what you are talking about ??

WP Media Cleaner can check which sizes aren’t used to some extent. Checking duplicates images is a very difficult task and I don’t know any plugin doing that, the closest one is the Total Synchronization with the image recognition.

One question : are the images look updated when you check the Media Library?

One suggestion : let’s address this issue one by one ??

Solve the issues one by one:- totally agree!
Regarding Your Media Cleaner: To my experience this plugin dues not recongize the Word Press Featured Image as being used in a post. I found this out when running the Media cleaner, and deleted the suggested files. Then ALL my featured images also were deleted.
I use featured images only as featured image, and is presented above the article heading in every article.
    Have a look: https://chezengh.no/2015/01/13/amerikansk-cookie-kake/

I have not uploaded duplicates to WP, except those listed below.
I do have linked all photos manually.
I only have 16 duplicate issues in Media | WP/LR Sync | Duplicate Links.
And there are only 7 Unliked images reported in Media | WP/LR Sync.

Normally Media Cleaner works with featured image, there is support for those features images for a while now (the standard features images with the core WordPress, maybe not the ones created in a different way by a special plugin).

Your website seems to work perfectly (no 404s anywhere). Having duplicate from WP/LR point of view is not an issue (except for people obsessed by optimizing everything, even the amount of space used) and un-linked images is normal if you have nothing to link them with.

Just to make sure: what is the main problem exactly right now? That your images doesn’t seem to have been replaced?

Hi, Jordy. As far as correct images.. It seems to be OK now.

I still want to make sure only the valid sizes are in place, though. Any suggestions on how I can delete re-seized images that ha wrong size?

One more thing: The Media Cleaner found some 2327 issue(s) with your files, accounting for 595.97 MB. I would think these should be removed from within Lightroom…
And what does the (+ 4 files) or (+ 3 files) mean?

There are only 668 images in the LR collection. Counting 2327 issues seems strange, but i assume they are all the different sizes of the images.

How do I clean this the most efficient way? – Meaning; Am I certain these images are not featured images? My WP is clean with no plugins to create featured images.

Media Cleaner is a dangerous plugin but very useful when you know EXACTLY what you are doing. And in that way you are right, you should delete the images in Lightroom in that case.

Yes, Media Cleaner counts everything in the filesystem. Media counts for 1.

To be honest, you should use Media Cleaner on a local install first, in order to make sure of what will happen.

    I use MAX CDN.

Could you advice what would be the best way workflow:

    1. In max CDN admin, purge all files from cache

2.In your plugin publish or update files

    3. In max CDN admin, purge all files from cache again

Or is only 2. and 3. needed?

    Thanks
    Thomas
