    Hi,

    First of all, really great plugin!

    After initial setup I used the Advanced Import feature to get some additional reviews that were missed. After doing so, I no longer see the plugin automatically get new reviews that are added to Google. Should it? Or once I start using Advanced Import, do I need to keep using that approach to get all future reviews, too?

    Thank you,

    Andrew

    @prometheusppc Hi Andrew,

    There is no “error”, but the functionality has not been finished and it should work as expected. I’ll message when the new version is released with support for the things we mentioned.

    @prometheusppc I am discussing a way to implement this properly with some other main languages such as French, Spanish, German, Italian so that the relative word descriptions do not revert to English. It will cause quite a lot of disruption otherwise which I’d prefer to avoid. Once I’ve worked out a good way to proceed, I’ll edit the code and release a new version with it in place. In the meantime, I need translators to add all the relative time descriptions (as a minimum).

    @prometheusppc I’ve written my own language fall-back for relative words in French, Spanish, German and Italian. It’s applied in the current release.

    Thank you!

    Do I just need to upgrade the plugin to the latest version and then re-run the Advanced manual import? Then the relative dates for all the reviews should get updated without changing anything else?

    @prometheusppc Just update to the latest version, that’s all. I haven’t changed how the HTML import works (other than a minor bug fix), rather I have altered how to reads the review dates and “translates” them from a timestamp into the relative date words in one of the 5 supported languages.

    Hi,

    Just updating the plugin didn’t change anything. Are you sure I don’t need to re-do the manual import of the reviews, too?

    Thank you,

    @prometheusppc Can you send me the IP of the page in question? I’ve specifically coded it to look at the actual review time stamp and make its own interpretation of the relative date description. If it is outside of the 5 languages, then it will not be applied (until translations exist).

    Sorry, I’m not sure what you mean by “the IP of the page”?

    Here’s an example url: https://www.prometheusppc.com/

    You can see two reviews from June that still say “6 days ago” and “a day ago”.

    Thank you,

    Andrew

    @prometheusppc I mean the URL… sorry.

    (@designextreme)

    @prometheusppc Thanks for the details – I probably could have figured out the URL!

    I will perform some tests at my side and work out what is going on here – it looks like a bit of a mismatch with relative time descriptions not sourcing the actual review timestamp.

    It is probably the review list not being “refreshed” properly – redoing the HTML Import isn’t the answer as it ignores the same reviews. Rather, it should use the actual or estimate review submission date as the basis for the text.

    Leave it to me and I’ll come back with something. ??

    @prometheusppc Fixed in version 3.15. There was an inconsistency when checking and setting the relative time text in reviews. Also, found out that US English is set to an empty option value in WordPress – handy!

    Please download and update to version 3.15, then clear the cache to force through the changes to the relative time text. ??

    That seems to have done the trick, thank you!

    I may have found another issue where CSS in “Custom Styles” in the Advanced tab doesn’t get automatically applied when the plugin is updated. We have to remember to go back and click “Save” again each time. That’s how the problem appears to me, and I’m asking my developer for any further clarification.

    @prometheusppc Thanks for letting me know about this.

    I set the custom styles to be stored in the database and in a file (for the practical adding in the page). I do have a task that is run when the plugin is updated, so I’ll add a check for this and apply it as it should work across versions.

    All the best,

    Noah

    @prometheusppc I’ve checked and you’re right – the custom styles file (./wp/css/css.css) is removed on update. I have added a restoration of the file (equivalent to you pressing the Save button) once the update is complete. This will be set in the next update.

    Thank you so much for your great support!
