Hi everyone, I’ve been working on our store’s site for a few weeks now and have inputted over 400 items one by one, it’s actually pretty cool (sort of like gardening lol). Everything has been going perfectly, including making barcodes and even seeing the items I add to WordPress show up in our Square inventory at the cash register — but the plot thickens!

After we did a test sale on our first credit card transaction yesterday (today is our grand opening!), everything worked great at the checkout, BUT not-so-great with our WooCommerce inventory management since we sell both online and in-store (our website will launch 2/2/22).

    PROBLEMS
    1) The test sale we did on a pair of earrings that we have 3 sets of wasn’t reflected in our WooCommerce inventory count. I did some reading and saw that it can take up to a full hour for stock reconciliation for in-person/store sales, but even after several hours Square still didn’t “tell” WooCommerce there should now be 2 pairs of earrings, not 3?

    2) My troubleshooting attempt was to ensure WooCommerce was our inventory master management system (it was) and to re-sync all items by clicking update after disconnecting and reconnecting Square… but the hourglass just turned and turned for over an hour, ultimately “updating” 48 products of our 400+, which basically just meant it was making duplicates or something in WooCommerce as ‘new’ items.

I don’t know how to share screenshots in this forum since I don’t see an upload feature, but I can share anything that helps.

We really want to be able to sell with Square up front to customers in-person, and use WooCommerce to sell online and manage ALL inventory.

    Hi @ihereira @margaretwporg and WordPress Team…

I created a screen-record video that shows the error in real-time, PLEASE WATCH IT HERE for much better context and insight into our severe issue.

**I have deactivated and removed WP Fastetest Cache Premium and re-synced with no improvement

My only thought, which seems so obvious surely one of the many engineers at Square & WooCommerce would’ve explained it, would be to continue entering all our products into WooCommerce as we’ve done since Day-1, but NOT choose WooCommerce as the “master record for inventory” so sales on Square (which accounts for 100% of our sales right now since we can’t launch the website with errors) will override inventory on WooCommerce…….? Seems counter-intuitive and needless, but I’ll take ANYTHING at this point so we can just launch our website!

    Hello,

I see you have an active topic in our WooCommerce Square support forum. I’ll set this WooCommerce core topic to “Resolved” to keep the discussion focused there.

    Thanks!

@paulostp since different people are involved in each thread contributing their troubleshooting and the problem is unresolved, and this thread has more info/posts, would it make sense to keep this thread unresolved or the other?

    Hi @wurdpressuzer,

This forum is specific for the WooCommerce core plugin and since you’re integrating your store with the WooCommerce Square plugin, the issue would be best handled in the WooCommerce Square plugin support forum.

Feel free to share a link to this thread on the Square plugin support page so the information will be available to the support staff.

As of today (3/18/22) this issue has been resolved. I decided to start from scratch and re-inventory 600 items one-by-one, syncing Woo with Square POS several times over a week to finally get Square ~90%+ functional and accurate.

While still unable to get accurate taxation enabled on the Square side, overall the system seems to be working correctly between the 2 platforms.

WooCommerce was very helpful and consistent in their communication during this support ticket. Thanks, WooCommerce!!

    Thanks for letting us know!

Glad to know that. If you have any further questions, I recommend creating a new thread.

    Best.
