  • You should not have spaces in your theme name : /zerif-lite 2/ , should be zerif-lite-2 .

Is the live view working now?
If yes, try to re-download the theme and reinstall it…
    Try to activate it again…

    I changed the theme name.

I can’t access anything, it just says the same message.

Have you tried to use FTP?
You can edit or delete that file.
After go to PHP My Admin and change the theme if necessary.

Another option is going direct to login page and chang settings:
    https://www.yoursite.com/wp-login.php

    I hope it helps you…

I tried that but it still does not work. I changed host and restarted from scratch the wordpress site and installed the theme again. Now I get a new error:

error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/u551170531/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/zerif-lite/inc/jetpack.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php-5.3/pear’) in /home/u551170531/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/zerif-lite/functions.php on line 516

Have you imported the older database?

    ??

Looks like you are using a free host, which isn’t a good thing to do, so they might have some limitations. The theme works fine.

I fixed it. I was downloading the theme and then uploading it with FileZilla but there was an error on my computer. I then uploaded it using the add theme button on the control panel of my site and it worked.

    I love you theme.

I have the following problem, I wonder can you help me? My site is not there to view or login in. I don’t know if I am supposed to change something in the hooks.php file or if I delete the theme will it gone back to being plain that I can install again?

My webhost engineers have advised that the issue appears to be my .htaccess file – it has additional rewrite rules in it, possibly from another WP plugin, that are incorrect

They have commented them out so only the default WP rules are in the file.

The logs currently show the following:

PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /mnt/website/standard/l/i/lisasweddingworld.com/web/wp-content/themes/omega/lib/hooks.php on line 405

Have you changed the login page?
If yes, you should change the string(that refers to login page) on your database. If the problem is with your .htaccess file, you should download and open it with Notepad or Notepad++(recommended), then, change the links that are being redirected to other links, after upload it again using FTP (You have to substitute the file).

I deleted church and omega from the themes folder in FTP and my default site came back to let me log in. I re-installed the church theme then.

That’s very odd. I downloaded the theme directly from themeisle.com, and got version 1.4

I got the same error. Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'function' (T_FUNCTION)... in jetpack.php then I found this discussion thread. I deleted the entire directory from my wp-content/themes/ folder via FileTransferProtocol. Reinstalled it again thru the wp-admin add themes interface. This time it works great. But I notice the version is now at 1.6.0. I thought themeisle.com was the author of this theme? Why are they shipping out old cruddy code directly from their website?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful for the product. But what’s up with this?

    Hello,

Yes, we are ThemeIsle, and we are the authors of the theme. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. I updated the theme on themeisle.com to the current version, 1.6.0.

About the syntax error you mentioned, that I due to the fact that when installed through FTP, the theme sometimes, is not copied right. We recommend using the wp-admin interface.

    Thank you,
    Rodica

I also have this error after the latest update…is there anyway to fix this without re-installing via the wordpress theme install? I would like to just FTP my files if possible without losing the frontpage customizing
