If you need to use archiving/recording or mobile delivery as HLS/DASH, restreaming or playlists, Wowza rtmp server is required. Also for recordings and video on demand, restreaming/playlists, using same server for web and rtmp is required (so rtmp videos, configuration files are accessible by web scripts and web video files by rtmp server).
