Hi lingtyp. This is certainly a weird one. How have you gone about installing Subtitles? Are you seeing this error after manually uploading the .zip file for the plugin or when you download it directly from www.ads-software.com and attempt to activate it? I’m unable to reproduce this error so any additional information you can give me about this would be great.

Also, can you give me more information about which version of WordPress and PHP you’re using?

I installed directly via www.ads-software.com from the backend of my WP. Tried it several times now and always get this error. WP is 3.9.1 and PHP is 5.3.x, unable to look for the exact version right now.

I tested it on another WP on the same server right now and it was successfull. So it must have to do with something in the specific WP.

Hi hiegl. Thank you for the update. This might have something to do with the fact that I’m using late static binding, which is only available in 5.3.0 and later. If you are using an older version, then this may be failing. Can you please try this again and if things are still wonky, open an issue for me on GitHub and I will look into this as soon as possible.

I am already planing an update to PHP 5.4 soon. As the two WP installations (the one with the problem and the other one, where it works), I mentioned above, are on the same server and this server is on PHP 5.3.x it shouldn’t be a problem of PHP I guess.

Hi hiegl. Okay. I’m not sure what else to say other than please do let me know if there’s any way that I can assist if you find out more information about potential conflicts with your installation and the plugin. I’m going to close this now but please feel free to open another thread on here or GitHub (preferable) if you can tell me how to reproduce the error so I can attempt to fix it. Thanks so much.

Hi hiegl. Heads up that I’ve just released an update to this that should fix the PHP 5.2.4 issue. Upgrade to v1.0.3 and if things are still breaking, let me know on GitHub. Cheers.
