Syntax fatal error

    I added one line of code to the function.php file but then removed it because it was unnecessary for what I needed to do. I’m positive I deleted that line and that line only and that the original code is untouched. Even so, now I get this error on both backend and frontend of my site:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/forge/vacanzepavesi.me-in-italy.com/public/wp-content/themes/clarina/functions.php on line 442

    the thing is line 442 is empty!

    Can anyone help?
