System Location OK?

    Hi, I have a plugin that I’ve translated some strings for. The location is:

    System: languages/plugins/buddypress-status-en_US.po

    I got a warning saying this would be overwritten, but my translations only work when I use this location. The developer told me I must use this location and that it will not be overwritten with WP updates.

    It this correct? I don’t want to lose the translations.

    If there is no community translation project for buddypress-status then the developer is probably correct. To my knowledge, WordPress only downloads translations from this source, because it’s for translations of open source plugins in the WordPress plugin directory.

    As with any non-expendable data, ensure your system translation files are included in your server backups.
