    Hi @barn2pluginsupport

Following issue of tabs missing after update V2.1.0, I have updated 2.1.0.1

It does not solve completely issue

1- After update to V2.1.0.1, tabs are still missing. For tabs to display, we need to save product page, even without doing any changes
Saving makes tabs to display but if we don’t save product page, tabs still don’t display after update

2- When unchecking box “Override the default tab content for this product” on custom tab, it clears content.
If we check again the box, content in tab at product page level is not available any more.

  • I’m having the same issue on my one site. Funny enough I have two websites running this plug in, and the one website is showing fine. The other website I have to update the product page (without doing any changes), for the tabs to show. I checked my plugin version, woocommerce version and the woocommerce database version which are all on the latest versions. The only differences are the mySQL database version (8.0.35-cll-lve vs 10.3.39-MariaDB-cll-lve) and php versions (7.4.33 vs 8.0.30)

Hi @johan_walter, I wasn’t able to replicate the two issues you mentioned on my test site. I’ve tested versions 2.0.23, 2.1.0, and 2.1.0.1, and all the tabs I created in each version appear in 2.1.0.1. Additionally, issue #2 didn’t occur during my testing.

To start the investigation, you can utilize the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin to conduct tests without impacting the frontend. This won’t alter how regular website users perceive or use the site. Activate the Troubleshooting Mode feature (Tools -> Site Health -> Troubleshooting).

Please ensure to back up your website and temporarily switch to the Storefront theme by Automattic. Deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce, WooCommerce Product Tabs, the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin, and observe if it resolves the issue. Then, reactivate each plugin one by one to identify the cause.

Please let me know if this works for you.

    Hi Adrien @barn2pluginsupport

I did test as you suggested

    1 – Installed Health Check & Troubleshooting
2- Switch to Storefront (So far tabs does not display even with Storefront)
3- Activate the Troubleshooting Mode (all plugins have been disabled)
4- Active “Woocommerce” and “WooCommerce Product Tabs”
Tabs still don’t display with only Storefront + “Woocommerce” and “WooCommerce Product Tabs”
5- I saved product page, tab displayed

I tested on a stagging website
I have an other stagging website both have same issue and do not display tabs if we don’t save products

On both stagging website we have
    WC 8.5.1
    Theme Shopkeeper 3.4
Php 8.0.30 on one website and php 8.1.27

I tried to look at product page on different browser, this is not the reason, Chrome, Firefox and Safari does not display tabs.

Hi @sharlien, may I ask which database and PHP version did not require the product pages to be re-saved?

    Hi @johan_walter,

We’ve just released an update (2.1.1) which should fix both of the issues you reported. Please could you check and let me know if the problems persist?

    Hi @andykeith @barn2pluginsupport

I have updated WooCommerce Product Tabs to version 2.1.1, both issues are NOT solved !

1- tabs are still missing. For tabs to display, we need to save product page, even without doing any changes

2- When unchecking box “Override the default tab content for this product” on custom tab, save change then check again the box, content in tab has been cleared.

    Hi?@andykeith?@barn2pluginsupport

FYI, tab display if I place content in defaut tab content but that’s not a solution because this tab display on all products even the products which does not have content in these custom tab

Hi @johan_walter, thank you for the updates. I believe my colleague Amir is assisting you now via email. If you need anything else, please let us know. – Carl

    Hi?@andykeith?@barn2pluginsupport

Amir answered only on point 2 saying that it is a normal behaviour from plugin to clear content when unchecking box “Override the default tab content for this product” and save change.
I guess this might cause loss of data for some user . That’s a choice you made, a warning is necessary because this is not a behaviour we expect.

The most important is point 1 that I haven’t had any answer since update ersion 2.1.1, issue is still not solved and tabs are still not visible after update.
Let’s focus only on those issue

Do you plan to make a new update that would solve it ?

    @johan_walter

This behavior is not something that happens in the new version of the plugin. We will track this as a feature request and will let you know if we are changing the behavior in the future versions.

If you have global empty content in your tabs, the custom content will not be shown in the single product page. To fix this temporarily, please write something in the global tab content (even a few soaces) and save it.

This is not a permanent solution and we have included a fix for this in the next version. We are planning to release this version in the next few weeks.

    Thanks.
