Tab not showing after adding product to cart

Tab is not showing after i add a product to cart on product archive pages, categories, etc
If i add the product on product page or if i disable AJAX add to cart or if i enable the tab to always show even if its empty it works fine, but its not the desired effect: it should appear when the first product is added to cart, because after adding the first product and navigating to other page, the tab appears.
Maybe there is something to do with AJAX, because if i add a product to cart on my home page, it reloads the whole page and the tab appears.
