Is there a way to assign a CSS class to each tab item? Not the tab widget but the actual tab. Looks like only basic text/image can be inserted. I need to group them, like tab item 1 and 2 will be in the same class, etc.

  • Hi

Can you please send me a link to your site?

@ypeng As far as I know there is currently no way to do that. Many people have asked for this, especially now that we have nested tabs.
While you can assign individual CSS id’s to the tabs (or even the container and widgets inside the tabs), for some reason the linking to them doesn’t work.
Theoretically, there is a javascript option but many people shy away from that option for security concerns/ lack of knowledge.

Let’s hope Elementor will make it work soon.

@israelaz Sorry, it is still a local site since we are on the development phase. The widget div id is “elementor-tab-title-2981” and “elementor-tab-content-2981”, I am looking for a way to add a class to both of them so I can hide them at the same time on a button click. Best case scenario they are both inside the same div instead of having one for title and one for content but that is probably more complicated.

@katiethecreative Yep, I agree with you. I am considering moving forward with the JS option but am concerning about code maintenance once I hand it off.

@ypeng Version 3.12.3 will be out within the next couple of days. To be honest, I hope it will work then. If not, at least you can ask the AI (integrated in this update) for the best code to make it work. ??
The API used for the AI feature is from OpenAI (so basically ChatGPT) but as it’s probably trained with the elementor code, I expect more precise results.

    Hi

Do you have an Elementor pro plugin on the site?

    Thread Starter ypeng

    (@ypeng)

@israelaz no, I don’t. I am using the free version.

    Hi

I’m afraid that there is no way to do it with our current Elementor tab widgets.

However, I have added this idea to our internal list as a Feature Request, so this feature might appear in one of the future Elementor updates. Thank you for your feedback!

There might be third-party plugins available that have such a feature so you can join our Elementor Facebook Group ? and check with our users there for such a plugin recommendation.
Finally, I would like to apologize for not being able to provide this particular solution at the moment. I hope for your understanding.
