The plugin has stopped working after updating to WordPress 5.5

The content is visible, but not organized into tabs anymore. Any suggestions?

It is likely that another plugin is causing this as Tabby Responsive Tabs does work with version 5.5.

Try using the WordPress Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin to investigate whether another plugin is causing a conflict or other issue and if so, which one.

Okay, thanks for the suggestion… Just tried that, still not working on my site unfortunately.

Did you go throught the troubleshooting steps to investigate whether the plugin works when all other plugins are not active? If so that rules out the plugins so this may be due to a theme issue.

I found the culprit, thank you. It’s working again!

What was the culprit? I’m having possibly the same or similar issue – with WP 5.5.3 suddenly both the horizontal tabs and accordion are displayed on the same web page – should be horizontal tabs only. The mobile theme view, however is still correct; accordion only. I saw some documentation online that suggested this plugin is using now obsolete jQuery even though this plugin says it is WP compatible up to 5.5.3 – and shows the last time it was updated was in 2017 (way before 5.5.3 which doesn’t necessarily mean it no longer works correctly but its very suspect). The plugin documentation also says that the accordion view comes from jQuery.

jsupernova1, the plugin works fine with WordPress 5.5.3. It is likely that another plugin on your site has an issue preventing the script in the tabs plugin from working. To troubleshoot whether this is the case and if so, which plugin has the issue you can use the WordPress Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin to investigate by seeing if the tabs work as expected when other plugin(s) are deactivated.

I tried activating one of the default themes that we do not use and the tabs then worked correctly. If the latest version of the theme that we have implemented is the culprit, and not a plugin, that is not something that I can address practically speaking to fix this issue. Should I still check the other plugins anyway? I’m thinking that still might possibly be a cause.

if it works with a default theme and all other plugins activated but not when the latest version of your site’s theme is active, this strongly suggests that the issue is with your theme.

You can check whether the issue remains with your theme active and no other plugins activated if you need to satisfy yourself that this is the case.
