Table bug with Edge – plugin needs update to 4.7.13

Hmm, couldn’t confirm if updating the table plugin doesn’t break something else. Seems there were several updates in the same area in TinyMCE 4.7.13.

@johpg can you download the development version from here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/tinymce-advanced/advanced/ (at the bottom) and see if it is working properly for you?

Nope, dev version 4.7.13, not working in Edge (seems to work in Chrome though).

In Edge if I click on text in the top left cell the cursor appears in the bottom right (last) cell.

If I then type something the whole table is deleted and replaced by what I type.

Uh, was afraid that may be the case. The error is not just in the table plugin, it is in tinymce.js itself. The only way to fix it is to update TinyMCE to 4.7.13 in core, see https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/44134.

Workaround for now: use Firefox or Chrome to edit tables ??

Could you possibly give us an estimate as to when 4.7.13 will be available via WordPress please? I’m using Edge as my default browser and am seeing several of the bugs that are fixed in 4.7.13. Alternatively could you tell me how to upgrade from 4.7.11 to 4.7.13 – sorry to be a pain.

Been having problems with Site Origin-Page Builder plugin via my Kadence Themes-Virtue Shortcode for Tables not working. Kadence Tech support said Microsoft updates routinely cause bugs in WordPress. He says to avoid Edge for all important things, especially working on websites. Use any non-Microsoft browser, i.e. Chrome, Firefox.

Good news.
Since recent WP version change from 4.9.7 to 4.9.8, the ” bug in Edge where tables are not selectable in visual mode ” has fortunately disappeared.
