Table filter – Ampersand and parentheses

    Hello, Tobias,

    I’ve searched this topic throughout the forum, but I could not find anything related.

    My issue is the following – in the table there is a column (CODUL MODELULUI) which contains the product’s part number and some of which contain ampersands and parentheses.
    If the user tries to filter the table by some of these part numbers containing ampersands and parentheses, then the filter doesn’t return any result. You could try, for example, to filter by B10THx10/1P-SC-M 2x28U(20)+2×1″&22U(20) and B10THx116/1P-SC-S 4×1″(20).

    The page in question is currently password protected and the password is scpb-hvac.

    Hi,

    thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    I’m not really sure why this is happening, but my feeling is that that " has a special meaning for the filtering of the DataTables JS library (just like it has for Google).
    Unfortunately, I don’t know how to change that, sorry.

    Hello, Tobias,

    I think you might be right – I removed the " sign from a couple cells and the filtering works now for those containing parenthesis, but not for those containing ampersand.

    Anyway, I’ll try looking for a workaround.

    Hi,

    the ampersand might also be special, unfortunately, as it’s encoded as & in HTML code.
