Tablepess search box on homepage

thanks for your question and sorry for the trouble!

For this, you could use the TablePress Row Filtering Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/row-filter/ in combination with the Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/shortcode-filter-get-parameter/
That will allow you to filter the table based on the keyword that is then coming from a URL parameter.
You can then put a search form on your home page, that will go to that URL, with the search term being added to the URL.

Hello. I found this thread elsewhere closed and solved about adding a search box to a different page. I have 5 separate pages with filtered versions of the main table and they work great, but now client wants an all-powerful search option that will search the entire database for an ID. Since I have no page that displays the entire database without the filters, I figured I’d use a two page method.

I tried your solutions on https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/search-from-another-page?replies=8

I have had no success. I can’t see an invisible character, so I can’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Edit: https://outreach.frogstar.ca/search-results?/?table_filter=ffx&submit=Submit fails with not found error.

your (last) link does contain an invisible character, which you can see in the address bar in the browser. Please try again with https://outreach.frogstar.ca/search-results/?table_filter=ffx&submit=Submit which works for me, and filters the table down from about 1,300 rows to 230.

Thanks again. I did actually resolve it before your reply however I could not for the life of me find this page to edit or delete my question. I love almost everything about WordPress except their support forums.

My solution was to change the form text used in Tobias’ example to a more stock form. I never figured out the secret invisible character, but a stock form worked for me.
