    Dear Tobias

I have a query regarding Tablepress and I cannot find a solution or similar enquiry in your support pages and hope that you can help.

This is what I have as source data for the table: An excel workbook that contains a number of work sheets. Each named “sheet” relates to a player. On that sheet there are details such as; date, event, round, score, handicap and so on. If I put a sheet into TablePress the result is beautiful, easy for people to view and sort to suit their needs.

However, this is what I need to do: I need players visiting the site to be able to select and view their own records.

I see the final page as having a table or drop down list showing the players names, so effectively that list is made up of the individual work sheet names.

When a player uses that to select their name, their records appear in a table on the page (that can be separate to the name selection table/list)

I suspect this is possible, perhaps with the addition of one of your extensions, but I’m afraid I’ve not found anything to help me in the support area, hence putting my query to you.

If both tables need to be present on the page at the outset, to avoid showing a real player, I can set up a sample sheet where the sheet name is perhaps “click here to find your records” and the table of results shows some samples

I’m completely flexible on how i might present that on the page, the thing is to be able to give players this functionality.

    Many thanks for your help.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

From what I understand, you’ll simply have to import these sheets from the Excel files as separate tables.
Then, create a new WordPress page for each player and embed the corresponding Shortcode.
Finally, you can create one page where you add links (or a dropdown with custom JavaScript functionality) to the individual/separate player pages. TablePress won’t be able to help directly with that, it really can only generate the tables for you, to use them elsewhere in pages, etc.

    Regards,
    Tobias
