• I’m using the latest version of the plugin, the latest version of WordPress, all my server specs meet the plugin requirements, and I’m still seeing this error message. There have been many threads on here regarding this issue, I know. But most of the solutions I’ve seen involve modifying code in the plugin, and I’d really rather not do that.

Some of the previous threads I’ve read indicate that NextGen has a problem with custom db table prefixes. That seems very weird, since customizing table prefixes is a standard security step. I purchased the Plus extension, didn’t need Pro because I don’t want ecommerce. I’ve submitted this question to NextGen directly in the past, and they had no answer.

    Can anyone help?

@jptoews – This message generally points to the database user on the site not having *ALL* privileges for the database. Please check with your web hosting servicer to verify this.

    Thanks!

I should have mentioned this in my first email: I gave the user ALL rights when I created it. I have verified this since. That does not appear to be the problem.

@jptoews – Generally this is a database user privilege issue but since you have already addressed that there could be a plugin conflict going on here or at least it should be ruled out. Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins, clearing your browser cache (and site caches if you are using a caching plugin), then reactivating the NextGEN plugin?

If this fixes the problem then it was likely one of the deactivated plugins that was causing an issue. Now, retrace your steps activating each plugin and re-checking to see if the problem returns. If it does then that last activated plugin was probably the one. Keep reactivating and in most cases it is also best to keep checking after each plugin, sometimes there may be more than one plugin on a site that will create an issue. If you do find one (or more) plugins causing this problem we would greatly appreciate your feedback on them so the developers may address them as soon as they can.

Also to note, in rare cases it may be the theme itself that is causing a conflict so while you have just the NextGEN plugin activated you might consider temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress Twenty series themes and see if this corrects the issue as well.

If the problem still persists after all of this we would still want to know, even more so, as we will still want to sort out the issue and may need additional details.

    Thanks!

I have deactivated all plugins, cleared and disabled cache, then re-activated *only* NextGen. The same error message appeared immediately.

I’m not keen on switching the theme for testing at the moment, because doing that has caused me grief in the past. I am using Aggregate from Elegant Themes.

If someone from Photocrati is willing to log in and take a look, I’d be more than happy to give you admin access or whatever is necessary.

Also, if it makes any difference, I did pay for a Plus license.
