Not sure if it was the latest WP update or the latest TablePress update, but none of my TablePress tables display any more. I can still see tablepress and all my tables in my dashboard, but on the individual pages themselves, I only see the shortcode for the table instead of the table itself, e.g. [table id=10 /] shows up on the website instead of the table it represents.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

That’s strange and I don’t really have an idea what’s wrong here. It seems like your theme is not evaluating Shortcodes there, or something might be interfering. Can you therefore please try again after temporarily deactivating all other plugins and after switching to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Sixteen? That way, we can find what’s causing this.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks. Upon further investigation, it’s definitely the upgrade to WP 5.1 that broke the shortcode; when I downgrade to 5.0.3 everything is fine again. I’ll investigate more when I can.

    Hi,

thanks, that would be great! I have not heard about any changes in WordPress 5.1 that could to lead to this behavior.

I’m finding that I have the same problem. It seems to be a change in the shortcode. When I look at my tables in Tablepress, the shortcode shows as

    [list id=11 /]

    rather than

    [table id=11 /].

All I have showing on my pages is the old shortcodes…

I just upgraded WordPress a couple of days ago, and I haven’t made any new tables in a couple of weeks, so I didn’t notice the change until just a few minutes ago when I was doing some work on the site

When I changed ‘table’ to ‘list’, the table displayed correctly. But I only did it on the more important tables, until I know if there’s fix or patch for it.

    Hi,

ncaweb: This actually indicates a different cause: You seem to have activated the TablePress Change Table Shortcode Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/table-shortcode/ on your site. If you deactivate that again, everything will be back to [table] instead of [list].

    Thank you, Tobias

That was exactly the problem. I’m not even sure why I have that plugin extension installed, but everything works fine now. Thanks again ??

    Hi Tobias,

Thanks for your help. The latest upgrade to WordPress 5.1.1 seems to have fixed the shortcode problem altogether.
