    The problem is the horizontal scrolling on a smaller device does not work with tablepress without adding the following code:
    .dataTables_wrapper {
    margin-bottom: 3em;
    overflow-x: scroll;
    overflow-y: hidden;
    }

    When I do add the code the first row does not completely appear when you select the second tab.

    Please see

    My CSS appears like the following:
    .tablepress .hilite-red {
    color: #ff0000;
    font-weight: bold;
    }

    .tablepress .hilite-black {
    color: #000000;
    font-weight: bold;
    }

    .dataTables_wrapper {
    margin-bottom: 3em;
    overflow-x: scroll;
    overflow-y: hidden;
    }

    .tablepress-id-34 .column-1 {
    background-color: #c6b7b7 !important;
    }

    .tablepress-id-34 .row-1 td {
    background-color: #c6b7b7;
    }

    .tablepress-id-34 .row-2 td {
    background-color: #c6b7b7;
    }

    .tablepress-id-35 .column-1 {
    background-color: #c6b7b7 !important;
    }

    .tablepress-id-35 .row-1 td {
    background-color: #c6b7b7;
    }

    .tablepress-id-35 .row-2 td {
    background-color: #c6b7b7;
    }

    The two table id’s in question are 34 & 35.

    1. If I do not have the code then the horizontal scrolling does not work and the first row displays correctly on both tabs.

    2. I have entered this code and turned off the horizontal scrolling and the first row displays correctly on both tabs but the scrolling does not work.

    3. I have entered this code and turned on the horizontal scrolling and the first row displays wrong on the second tab but the scrolling does work.

    Do you have any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Jeff

    Hi,

    thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    The reason for this might be the tabs, as this maked it difficult for the DataTables script to calculate column widths.
    My suggestion therefore is to uncheck the “Use DataTables” checkbox on these table’s “Edit” screens and instead use the scroll mode of the TablePress Extension from https://tablepress.org/extensions/responsive-tables/

    It basically uses the same CSS mechanism that you were adding manually, but not on the DataTables container <div>, but on a custom one.

    Regards,
    Tobias
