    Hi there

When i setup the plugin in a test site, and monitor Tag manager, and analytics using tag assistant in chrome, it detects the two. even when i have not yet accepted the cookie notice.

Is this correct, is the tracking disabled, or have i misunderstood something ?

    Hi @kimsvane,

It could detect both, even if they are not activated.

If you use Tag Manager, it will be loaded, but the tags are set based on consent if you follow: https://complianz.io/configuring-categories-for-tag-manager/

Let me know if the article helped,

    Hi @kimsvane,

If you are using Google Tag Manager you need to use the Complianz events to fire script based on consentlevel. The events are:

    Functional = Custom Event > cmplz_event_functional
    Extra custom events = Custom Event > cmplz_event_0 / cmplz_event_1 / etc.
    Category Marketing = Custom Event > cmplz_event_all

For more information on this subject, please refer to our tutorial:
    https://complianz.io/configuring-categories-for-tag-manager/

Good luck! Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Regards,
    Leon

    Hi @aahulsebos and @leonwimmenhoeve,

    Thanks for your answers.
I’m not sure I’ve done it correct in Tag Manager.

Is this correct for the functional event? (Links to screenshots)
    https://prnt.sc/rcg5in (Tagtype setup)
    https://prnt.sc/rcg7jo (Trigger setup)

    What about this for LinkedIn?
    https://prnt.sc/rcg993 (Tag setup)
    https://prnt.sc/rcg9rw (Trigger setup)

And what about all other social media? There’s no Tagtype for Facebook and Instagram in Tag Manager?

Also I’m not sure what the Tagtype for “All Marketing” should be?

    Hi @kimsvane,

    Your triggers are correct.

cmplz_event_functional will fire functional cookies before consent (for you Analytics)
cmplz_event_0 is the category after functional, in this case you can name this category yourself under cookie banner settings. (in your case maybe “Social Media”) and trigger your social tags with this event
cmplz_event_all is always the last category and is regarded mostly for marketing purposes.

Let me know if it helps,

    regards Aert

    Hi @aahulsebos,

    Sounds good.

Now I’ve tried to enter my test WP website where the forementioned tags and triggers are setup. https://prnt.sc/rdq9qb

But when I check realtime data in Google Analytics I can see that Analytics is tracking my behavior in realtime, though I haven’t given my consent.

Do you have any idea what’s wrong?

    Hi @kimsvane,

I checked your testwebsite and see that the Google Analytics script is fired before consent. That corresponds to your screenshot:

cmplz_event_functional will fire functional cookies before consent
    cmplz_event_0 requires consent.

You placed Google Analytics in the ‘functional’ event. If you want to ask consent for analytics, you should put this under the ‘event_0’ or ‘all’ events, as described above.

    Kind regards,
    Leon

    Hi @kimsvane,

Is there anything we can help you with?

    Hi!

Thank you for your patience (in several ways).

It make sense what Leon says and now the Analytics tag is triggered by cmplz_event_0

Now it’s only Tag Manager that’s fired when entering the website, but i don’t see Google Analytics get triggered in Google Tag Assistant when I press “All cookies” in the bar?

    Hi @kimsvane,

I now see that you are no longer using the Categories banner, but the ‘regular’ All vs functional only banner. The ‘All cookies’ button triggers the cmplz_event_all event. So if you want to keep using this banner you can change the event name to cmplz_event_all.

    Regards,
    Leon
