Tag cloud purpose?

  • Let me see if I understand what a WP tag cloud is..

    I write a post and can assign certain keywords (tags) to it, and these words show up in a tag cloud on my sidebar. When someone visits my site, they click on these tags and all posts with these tags will be displayed?

    Do the tags grow/shrink in font size based on how many times someone has clicked them, or based on how many posts use the tag(s)?

    do tags help bring people to the website, or not really since the post does that?

    just trying to see if i want to implement a tag cloud or not.

    Yes, they grow when you have more posts with a certain tag.

    do tags help bring people to the website, or not really since the post does that?

    They might help a little but I think it’s more of asthetic then functional.
