For about a week, close to two now, I’ve had an error on the top of GA4 stating

“Your Google Tag code isn’t configured correctly, which may soon prevent your property from measuring automatic events. To fix this, place your Google Tag configuration code in the correct location on all pages that measure events.”

Any other reports of this, something change in Google I don’t know about….?

    Thanks,
    Eric

I’m getting the same, and yet my tag configuration hasn’t changed. I’m wondering if this is another of the automatic messages because we aren’t using the setup wizard…? The “may prevent from measuring automatic events” part makes me think so.

I am getting the exact same message and indeed nothing in my tag configuration has changed

Thomas, any update on what is going on here? Is it Google, us, a glitch in the matrix? ˉ\_(ツ)_/ˉ

@emrit24 and @ifaka, any chance you also use AIOSEO? We converted to using that as our SEO plugin around the same time, but it is not configured to connect to GA, it is just managing search stuff and sitemaps.

@crosseyedcoder, we do not use AIOSEO. I’ve tried troubleshooting in a variety of ways, including using the Tag Manager coverage summary tool and I can’t figure out anything that’s wrong. On Reddit I saw some others saying their error message went away, but ours has not.

Thanks @emrit24, it was worth asking. I’m going to have to dig for some of those Reddit forms.

@duracelltomi… I would like to hear your thoughts on this.

    Thanks
