Tag-generator tools not working

Suddenly the CF7 tag-generator tools are not working in any of my websites.

Clicking/dragging on the boxes does not activate the tool, instead it adds the link only. Clicking then on the link only opens a new editing page for the form.
How very strange. What is happening here and how to repair?
