I am having trouble with installing Tag Manager. I keep getting the following message:

    redirect_uri_mismatch

when I try to install it.

I also have this message on every one of my posts

You need to reauthenticate your Google account. Click here

When I click on this I get the same redirect_uri_mismatch. message

Thanks for reaching out, hopefully we can assist. Please share the following information so we can inspect your current setup:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Have you recently made your site secure (https?). From inspecting your sites source code I can see some Yoast references with your site as http, as opposed to https.

Thank You for your response. I just forwarded you the site health information via the form above.
My site is https to my knowledge can you give me more specifics ? Just an FYI that I’m not a technical person and new to all of this so you may have to dumb it down.

Many thanks for sharing. Nothing stands out from immediate inspection. Can you follow the steps below and inform me if you’re able to proceed with setting up Tag Manager? You’ll need to reauthenticate your account first (by clicking on the “Click here” link next to that message). I’ll also check out the optimization plugin you have active, which seems to have some features that can impact Site Kit setup:

    1. Open up a Chrome browser incognito window.
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    5. Attempt to setup the Tag Manager module once more

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

If you have any questions on the above let me know.

I have a wordpress.com site and don’t see the plugin available there ?

In that case you can perform a search for “Health Check” in the plugins section, providing you have the ability to install plugins.

Let me know anyway, hopefully we can determine the cause.

Ok. Will install the plugin and get back to you

    ‘redirect_uri’ mismatch

I installed the plugin and went through all the steps you outlined. I tried to install Tag Manager again and got the same message, copied and pasted above

I’m still waiting for this issue to be resolved on my site.

Thanks for providing an update, and sorry to hear that didn’t work. I’ve since tried to replicate the same issue on a WordPress.com site although I’ve been unsuccessful.

If you can share your experience in the form of a video using a service such as recordit or loom we can see exactly what’s occurring. Another method to record is from your phone and provide a link to the video after making it available on Google drive.

Alternatively if you’re unable to provide a recording please share at what stage do you encounter the “‘redirect_uri’ mismatch” notice? Is it after you press on the “Allow” button during setup, when Site Kit requests permission? If you want to share the full URL in your address bar here it may provide some insights into whats occurring.

I’ll also check your site setup from the Site Kit authentication service.

I’m still waiting for this issue to be resolved on my site.

We provide support during the weekdays only, hence the late response. Hopefully we can determine the root cause with the above information. If you have any questions feel free to ask here.

@nosheenbabar It looks like you may have registered you site previously as https://untoldrecipesbynosheen.org as opposed to https://untoldrecipesbynosheen.com.

If you wish I can reset your site on the Site Kit service, this should allow you to proceed. Note that you’ll need to follow the Site Kit setup flow once more, as this will reset the connected status for all connected services and users, although it looks like there is only one connected user at present.

    Hi James,
Yes you’re right I was .org and changed it to .com
Please reset my site on the site kit service.
Thank You for all of your help and I apologize for my delay in answering you.

Sure, I’ll send on the request to reset your site. I’ll inform you as soon as you can once again attempt setup.

    Hi Nosheen,

Can you try setup Site Kit once more on your site? It would be great to know if you can successfully connect your site as we’ve now reset your previous connected domain from the service.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.

Update: We’ve also reset your site on the Site Kit service, so please do attempt setup once more and let us know if you encounter any issues.
