    Hi,

I’ve finally updated from 1.9x to 2.0.66.16 (very nice, by the way!). I have created a page that contains a tagcloud and have been adding tags to my images. It works perfectly the first time you click on a tag, but if you then go back to the tagcloud and click on the same tag, it displays the pictures again but in a column, just 1 vertical line of images.

Going back and clicking on another tag displays those images fine, but again, go back and click on the same tag again and you get the column.

Is this a known issue or something unique to my site? I’m using the 2010 theme, but have also tried it on others (using live preview) and the same thing happens.

    Thanks in advance!

@tonker – I’m not seeing this on my test sites, even using Twenty Ten specifically; can you provide a link to the URL you are seeing this on?

thanks for getting back to me. here’s the link: https://example.com/the-stats/test-2/

so click on a tag, it will display the pics.
then go back (browser back button or links)
click on the same tag and see if you get what i get

    thanks

@tonker – Thanks for the link, I am seeing it happen on your site and it appears to be related to some sort of caching issue.

If you append /?ngg_flush=1 (https://example.com/?ngg_flush=1) to the site URL you will clear all NextGEN Gallery caches, which corrects this issue (temporarily). This has me thinking something else is interfering with the CSS (and most likely JavaScript) on the site. Caching plugins, or plugins that provide caching functionality are often the reason for this.

thanks for looking into it Cais, I’ll apply that temporary fix.

the site is usually password protected, which I disabled for you to check it out. if you need access again just let me know (here or email).

    thanks!

…also, now you’ve see the issue on that page, could you please remove the site url from this thread? i thought I could to it but seems not if there’s been a subsequent reply. many thanks.

@tonker – I do not have the necessary privileges to do much more than what you are abel to do yourself. You will need to contact the forum moderators to address that issue.

thanks, I’ve tagged it ‘modlook’ for a mod to remove the link.

@tonker – That is one way of doing it … I like to keep the use of that tag to an absolute minimum myself. I believe this would be an acceptable use in this case.

Cais – I just deleted the page and started afresh and it’s working now…who knows?! I think the links I had put in there to go back to previous page were causing the issue, when I looked at them on the ‘Text’ tab on page edit it seemed to have multiple embedded urls in the links, rather than just a link back to the page the tag cloud was on.

Either way, I’m happy. Thanks for your quick attention and I’ll just wait for a moderator to sort the url in this thread and then mark it as resolved.

MODERATOR: could you please remove the URL in the 3rd post in this thread?

(I saw the modlook tag had been removed so maybe it wasn’t clear what I had tagged it that way for)

Done however? Stop posting things you want removed. The forums are public and your links are still going to be in google cache. We are not in the business of removing links generally unless there’s a darn good reason, like abuse or harassment.

TL;DR: don’t post things you don’t want to be publicized.

    Thanks.

The “darn good reason” was that it was requested and the only way to show what was happening, seeing as it couldn’t be reproduced on a test site.

Shame you’ve let down what had been a positive support experience.
