Tagline stopped working

  • It’s about The Shinigami List

    I have been suing this Japanese text as my tagline for quite some time (even since I started my blog on WordPress.com) and it was working up until a few days ago.

    “死神 リスト”

    now it just shows as “?? ???” in the tagline text space after I save it (it remains as questions marks in the tab when I open the site too).

    What may be the reason behind this sudden odd change in the behaviour of my little blog?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
