I setup this new Pinterest for WooCommerce plugin and was successfully to create a catalog and shop is appearing on my Pinterest business account. I have a few questions I cannot figure out with your documentation. By the way, I just enabled debug today, just in case you have questions regarding that.

I checked the tracking checkboxes. Docs state “The Pinterest tag code is added to relevant pages of your website.” Is there a way I can validate this, as I am receiving tag errors. Or is it necessary to add code to my site manually?

Also, I checked Rich pins checkboxes. However, I also have WooCommerce SEO doing the same thing. I purchased Yoast WooCommerce SEO for Pinterest rich pin capabilities, but I am unsure if these 2 play together nice. I wonder if one overrides the other or if both can live together. The reason I ask is that I am not seeing prices on my Pinterest Pins yet. They all look like WordPress post rich pins, not product rich pins.

I know this is a new plugin, so I understand if there is tweaking. And it is free. It is works well, I would be more than willing to pay for something like this in the future.

  • The prices didn’t show for me either for a while. Apparently, with subsequent scrapes, they eventually got picked up and they show now. Give it some more time.

+1 I’m also getting tag errors, I hope the next update fixes.

    Hey @cutty3d,

    Hope you are doing well!

for the tags there is an extension of Chrome that checks the Pinterest tag on you site pages, is called (Pinterest Tag Helper).

For the Rich Pins, I don’t think is good idea to have 2 plugins doing the same. You can deactivate “Yoast WooCommerce SEO” or uncheck the option “Rich Pins” on the Settings page of Pinterest Plugin.

Can you describe the tag issues you mention? also for @itaine

@christian1983, Thank you for your response.

I removed the Pinterest information on my Yoast, so that does not interfere with tags. After my original post, everything was sending to Pinterest successfully and I was added as a Verified Merchant. At the time I wrote this, I did not realize the app handled the tags, as well as the catalog feed, so I was adding the manual tag code per Pinterest help. BUT I have a few other issues now.

    1) I am getting tag errors that Pinterest is asking me to fix. I was able to fix a few at the beginning but I am unsure what these new errors are. Errors disappeared for a day. Here are a few of the errors showing now they are saying I must fix prior to maintain verified Merchant
“Make sure you are including Product IDs in your Checkout events. A Product ID can be any format that you choose as long as it matches the format used by your Catalog.”
    and
“This should be the total value of the completed order, without commas, currency symbols. Tax or shipping should not be included. For example, if a user completes checkout for a 10 USD item and a 12 USD item, Value would be 22. Example values: 1000, 100.50, 10000.00.”
    2) I unchecked “Enhanced Match Support”,as it was throwing a Critical error to my customers when they tried to download my digital files. Once I unchecked that, the error went away.

By the way, I have logs enabled, so if those would be helpful, let me know. I just do not know how to get them to you. I tried via WooCommerce support and they said to contact the developer.

    PINTEREST SUPPORT UPDATE:
This is what Arshad at Pinterest Support told me to do to fix.

Update the Checkout event to pass back Product ID
Update the Checkout event to include a valid Currency (e.g. USD)

He referred to multiple sets of code to update on my website. I am guessing this is handled by the plugin, but if you have suggestions. I would surely appreciate it. This is the first time I successfully connected my catalog and I tried several things before your plugin. I am not updating anything until I see your suggestions.

    Hey @cutty3d,

    Hope you are doing well!

    1) you can test the events on your own site on your Pinterest Busines account: Ads > Conversions > Test Events.
I can do it for you if you send us the url of your site.

    2) Known issue, Thanks for reporting it.

    Hi, @christian1983!
Thank you for the prompt response. As of this morning, one error dropped off. Now only this message on Pinterest and no errors in the plugin itself:

“This should be the total value of the completed order, without commas, currency symbols. Tax or shipping should not be included. For example, if a user completes checkout for a 10 USD item and a 12 USD item, Value would be 22. Example values: 1000, 100.50, 10000.00.”

I tried testing via my Business Account and I do not know where to find the results of the test. However, I installed the Pinterest Chrome extension for real-time and I get no errors. I am wondering if some of the problem is Pinterest.

    Here is my website: https://www.simplycraftysvgs.com/

Thanks again for your help. I will await the update for number 2 fix.

Hi, @christian1983, sounds great! Thanks. I think it cleared itself. I honestly feel it was a Pinterest issue.

On a side note, I saw another had this issue and I am confirming. My main product photo is coming in at correct resolution, but the others are using the thumbnail version of the photos. I would just rather the plugin bring in the main product photo and not bring in the additional photos unless you can find a way to bring the full resolution versions over. Just a suggestion for a future update. Having a fuzzy, low resolution photo is not good on Pinterest.

Thanks for all your help! I like the basic functionality thus far.

    Hey @cutty3d

The thumbnail image is a know issue, Dev team is working on it.

I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Best,
    Christian
