• Hi All

I’m still slowly but surely working on converting my old Nucleus blog over to WordPress. One feature I’d definitely wanted but am not quite sure how to handle now? Tags.

My blog is really quite random, and I’d thought I could use tags to help keep things organized. But i’m wondering whether in the long run its best to use tons of tags with all the variations I can think of, or whether I should try to keep things consolidated somewhat. For example:

photography, product photography, macro, close-up vs just a simple
    photography

It does seem the former style seems to make for a gigantic and redundant looking tag-cloud formation, so if I go that route I’ll likely hide the formation all together. But then how else would they be used?

    Any thoughts?

  • I’d use categories for the “rough” stuff, like “photography, private, programming” etc.
Then use tags to provide more detail, like “product, macro, portrait” etc. for photography, “baby stuff, events, hiking, sports” for private, … you get the point.

Thanks mores. That’s more or less what I ended up doing.

Can we see the result ?
