Tags display first tag not a link

  • Function the_tags() results in a correct display list of the tags but first tag is not a link. If you analyse the html you find that text Tags has become also part of the first link making it faulty html.

  • I can’t seem to reproduce this; can you post a link to a page that shows the issue? Also, what arguments (if any) are you passing to the_tags() and what theme are you using?

    As you couldn’t reproduce this I tried switching to one of the standard themes of WP. In these themes the problem does not occur.
    So it has to be something in my set-up. I will investigate and report back.
    (I rather do not want to post URLs here)

    I have found the culprit. There was a PHP snippet active to customize the tag list. Due to a PHP version change a while ago on my server the code was not executed properly. Now it is and the tag list is fine again.
