    Hi there,

Is there away to take payment on PayPal rather than being redirected back to checkout page and the customer having to click place order?

    Hi @jakwalker,

The button from the Checkout page lets the buyer complete the payment within the PayPal popup window.
The buttons on the non-Checkout pages are for transmitting the user details to the Checkout and there is currently no setting (and no plans to add one) to skip the final review on the Checkout page: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/#paypal-on-non-checkout-pages
WooCommerce usually only calculates taxes/shipping on the Cart or Checkout page and the user wouldn’t be able to accept the terms of your site, both of which could be problematic with no final review.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi Niklas,

    Thank you for your reply.

OK I understand what your saying however it seems weird that the customer can only pay now via PayPal on the checkout page and not say via the cart page.

The old Plugin PayPal Checkout used to allow this on both the cart and checkout pages.

I’ve had many customers say they thought they placed an order only to discover they had not clicked the place order button.

I hope you can implement this soon

Also in the meantime is there some kind of hook I could add to creare a message at the top of the checkout page only after the customer clicked to pay through PayPal to tell them to scroll to bottom to click place order?

    Kind Regards

    Jak

The previous PayPal Checkout plugin was working the same way as PayPal Payments in this regard though. Only the Checkout plugin displayed uneditable buyer details on the “Confirm your PayPal order” page while PayPal Payments pre-fills the existing Checkout fields without disabling them, but that’s the only difference.
There was also a final review before the order is placed. And for now, PayPal Payments does not provide any dedicated hooks to display a message on the confirmation Checkout page.

The only integration I’m aware of that has a setting to skip the review is this one.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
