    Hi,

    I need to take out ‘uncategorised’ which comes from woo commerce product categories and it shows in the filter bar as well.

    Howdy Iulia,

    You can only change its name (and slug), but you cannot delete it.

    Uncategorized is a special category that WooCommerce needs (because really it’s WordPress that needs it) as a default fallback for when another category wasn’t specified. So while you can’t delete it, you can rename it.

    Go to your site’s WP Admin ? WooCommerce ? Categories, and then find the Uncategorized category. Hover your mouse pointer over the name to reveal the Edit | Quick Edit | View links, and click Edit to change it.

    Once you’ve renamed it, you can identify this default category by the ? icon you’ll see to the left of it.
