• Whenever I write a new article, it takes *forever* to post it.

We’re talking 5+ minutes for the script to return me to a blank “write” page.

Note that after 3-ish seconds, I can go to “view site” and the new post is there for viewing.

I’ve tried disabling the sending of pingbacks/trackbacks but this doesn’t improve matters, nor does it help when I’m writing a post with no links or images or anything else that requires processing in it.

Stuff like sending Trackbacks to manually-specified URLs seldom works, as well.

This is a basically stock WordPress install, I changed out the theme but haven’t touched the codebase.

I don’t have any comment-body plugins enabled, either. The only thing I’m really running is SpamKarma.

    Any help is appreciated.

If you have just noticed this today, I have too. It appears to be related to the fact the www.ads-software.com’s servers are very flaky today, and there are a few features in the admin panel that are tied into www.ads-software.com.

if this happens often it could be that your pinback is hard wired on in your edit files. You will know right away got to

Follow the link and edit those 2 files. It worked for me.

Or you could just remove the entr(y|ies) in Update Services under Options > Writing.

I don’t think that will work. It is hard wired on in the edit.php and advanced edit.php files in the admin folder.

It has been proven to work in a few previous threads, but it also [obviously] removes your ability to ping update services.

You know I hadn’t even considered that.

Maybe I’ll cut my list of update services down a bit. I’ve got 25+ in there.
