Takes to long to update results with a custom field search

    Hi there,

    I currently have 2900 product imported into UPC. I have notice a decrease in performance. This is especially when loading the page initially and when using a custom field to filter the catalog.

    Loading the page takes approximately 15 seconds.
    Filtering the page using any of the custom fields I have setup takes approximately 25-30 seconds.

    Is there a way to decrease the loading and filtering time?

    I have to mention once the page is loaded, to filter by category and sub-category is not to bad.

  • Hi JC,

    Once you start getting up to around 1500+ items in your catalog, there will indeed be a decrease in performance. There isn’t too much that can be done to counteract this (maybe further optimizing/decreasing the file size of your images). An alternative would be to split it up into multiple catalogs.

    Ok thanks! I will try one of your suggestion and see how it goes.

    Is there any plans in the near future to build a feature to increase the amount of items a catalog can hold without decreasing the performance?

    Hi JC,

    That is unlikely, as the decreased performance is caused by the fact that it has to cycle through all the filtering.
