taking advantage of sidebar space

  • hello all. i am currently using the twenty eleven theme version 1.4. i made a few pages and linked it so when you go the pages the categories i have are there by adding an <a href> to the title tag of the page. i removed my sidebar from the pages by taking the <?php get_sidebar(); ?> away from the bottom of the category.php.

    how do i put something in that area where the sidebar was? this is the exact page: https://discgolfatx.com/?cat=5

    to the left is where i want a map to go. but also, i want to have a few different pages with a few different maps, so not something constant like the sidebar was. any ideas?

    my new thought i am trying is that i should have left the <?php get_sidebar(); ?> where it was and customized that. found a good article on that and am going to look into it.
