Hello, I’d appreciate some help from someone who has more experience than me in Woocommerce file migration please!

I’m taking on an existing www.ads-software.com site that has Woocommerce plugin installed and lots of products added in already. I’d like to work on developing the theme on a local server and have installed wordpress in my MAMP folder, exported the data from the existing wordpress admin (the client has given me the wordpress login details) and imported it into my local server wordpress. I’ve then added the Woocommerce plugin but now am a bit lost.

    Questions:

    1. How do I migrate the product info into the Woocommerce plugin from the original wordpress to my new wordpress?
    2. The theme hasn’t migrated over into my new WordPress – is there a common reason this happens I can check out?
    3. When I’m done developing, will I need to migrate the Woocommerce content back to the original site or will it seamlessly fit into the developed theme I (will have) built?

I’m fairly new to theme development so please treat me like I’m 8 years old and know nothing!

    Thanks a lot
    Stef
