• Hi there,

I’m wanting more control over my website and am not the most tech savvy person, however, I am investing more time in learning the ins and outs of WordPress and my site.

I would very much like to add a carousel for the testimonials but I dont seem to have access to the current plugin or full access and I’m unsure of the language I’m even meant to be using. How do I gain full admin access from the company that created the site (Innovate Digital) or use the full effects of the plugin Slider Revolution 6?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello faceyoganz,

If you want control over your website, then you will need to ask Innovate Digital to make you the Super Admin. If you are hosting your site with them, and they are modifying your site, then you will want to add them as an Administrator.

To answer your question, you will need to ask them to make these changes. When you login, it will tell you the role they have assigned to you.

Hi @eldredge, I really appreciate your response.

I would like to have Super Admin privileges, is it more a matter of asking Innovate Digital to grant me that?

It might be more to it than requesting to be the Super Admin. If they are hosting your site and have complete control over it, then some companies like this set roles to protect the website and to keep the person from accidentally deleting things or making changes that could affect the website. Also, some companies have it in their agreement that while you hire them, they have complete control over your site.

So, if you request to have control, and you have an agreement with them, then you might have to host it somewhere else. Without knowing more, this is the best answer I can give.

    Thank you
    Jennifer

@eldredge Thank you, Jennifer! I’ll look into this. Even if I’m given admin privileges that may be better as from what I can see I believe I’m an Editor for my own site.

The truth is the company charges too much for me at the moment and I am wanting to use a freelancer I have found but he needs more access than what I currently have.

    Regards ??

If you trust this freelancer, then they should help you move away from this business. You will want to make sure you have everything in place before you migrate somewhere else. This includes your domain name. If they are hosting your domain name, you will want to move that over to your new host provider or companies that host domains.

    Hope the best for you!

    Jennifer
