TalentLMS only secure HTTPS connections

    TalentLMS has announced the following:

    To improve the security of TalentLMS, we’re phasing out TalentLMS API support for non-secure connections (HTTP) by July 1, 2022. After that date, only secure HTTPS connections will work.

    What does this mean for you?
    As you’re currently using the TalentLMS API in your account, you could be affected. If you’re accessing the TalentLMS API using non HTTPS connections, the API will stop working on July 1, 2022, unless you make changes.

    What should you do?
    For your TalentLMS API calls to continue to function properly, please make sure to update any non-secure HTTP requests to use secure HTTPS before July 1, 2022. If you’re using a custom domain, make sure you have set up a valid SSL certificate for your custom domain.

    Hi Remco,

    Thank you for your message.
    We are currently working on a new update for the plugin which will make sure https is used if the request is sent from a secured domain.
    You will not need to make any changes other than downloading the new plugin version when it has been released.

    In just under 2 weeks it will be July 1, how is the update going? It would be nice if we also have some time to test the update before July 1.

    Hi Remco,

    The plugin update is currently in testing, and will be released once this has been completed. It is expected to be ready in the coming week.

    Hello Jack or colleague,

    I’m starting to worry now, tomorrow is July 1st and we haven’t seen any sign of a new release yet. Do you also know whether TalentLMS will really no longer allow https:// requests tomorrow? Can we expect something today or should we disappoint our customer? Can you be a bit clearer in what we can expect when? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Remco,

    The update in TalentLMS which will enforce https has been delayed slightly.
    The WordPress plugin update will be released prior to this being enforced in the LMS.
