Target Theme & IE compatibility

Hey! I was hoping perhaps somebody can give me some guidance with how to develop my site so that it displays / functions properly on IE (7-9).

And you’ll note that the menu (dropdown) functionality breaks, as well as the home page’s slideshow / layout. ( it adds scroll bars, and other unsightly elements )

If necessary, I can find / use some code that will force IE8+ / non compat mode, on IE users. But I’m still having trouble with the menu. If anybody can offer any guidance ASAP, that would be greatly appreciated ??
