    Hello,
since the new wp slimstat update any links with target=”_blank” does not working. The links does not open in new tabs or windows. The links will be opened in the same tab…

Does it work if you disable the CDN option in the settings?

Same here: I run 10 WordPress installations with WP Slimstat, and in all of them all external links don’t work anymore. They don’t even open in the same window/tab in the chrome browser or in IE!

Toggling the CDN option doesn’t change anything, so I have to disable WP Slimstat or revert to a previous release until a solution is found. This is serious, and it’s definitively a problem of the new WP Slimstat release since all previous versions worked well without interfering…

    Thanks for fixing this,
    Ralph

    Hi,

Same here. I’ve resolved it by loading the file ‘wp_slimstat.js’ in the header, not in the footer.

    Cheers

    Great. Thanks! ??

I have this problem too, and had been thinking it was WP Super Cache. In my site’s case, every single link that’s supposed to open in a new window is screwy. But instead of just “not working,” every link that should open in a new window now just picks a random page from one particular subsection of the website and takes you there. If you RIGHT-click those links, however, the correct pages still open as normal.

Even more puzzling, looking directly at the code in Chrome (“inspect element” / “view source”), everything appears as it should, where it’s showing the correct address the link should direct you to.

    Thank you for your help.

Can you post the URL of the site where this is happening?

OK, I’m going to sacrifice myself for science… ??

I reactivated WP Slimstat in my personal blog

    https://www.zonebattler.net/

    Try the article

    https://www.zonebattler.net/2014/10/29/altglasverwertung/

and click on any of the fat green links in it: you won’t get anywhere. As soon as I deactivate WP Slimstat and reload the page, everything works fine again…

P.S.: In my other WP installations, I’m reverting to the previous plugin version to ensure proper link behaviour.

Thank you, zonebattler! We’re running some tests.

@ zonebattler Hm, you said Chrome, right? I’m using the latest version of Chrome, and it works just fine here :/ Could you clear your browser cache? For me it also works with Firefox and IE. You should also see my clicks on external links in the admin, since the tracker was able to track them, for what I can see!

I’m starting to think that it might be because of a browser add-on you’re using, like ADBlock or something like that…

I’m using Chrome and IE in the office, but now I’m at home using Opera (12.16), and it is the same problem here. 3 browsers, 2 locations, 1 (severe) problem…

Can you contact us at https://support.getused.to.it ? I’d like to do a screenshare so that we can see what’s going on ?? We can use Chrome Remote Desktop, so that you don’t need to install any separate software for this.

    Hi,

having the same problem. Some outbound links and theme social buttons are not working. Disabling the plugin or reverting back to 3.7.5 solves the problem.
